ICT1 Celtic 1

A poor performance and another 2 points wasted.

At 1-0 we looked as if we didn't want to up it a bit and score the 2nd and it ended up costing us in the end.

Pearo and Aiden were the best men by far and must both be looking to start v Hibs next week which won't be an easy game.

Thats if Aiden has recovered in time as every time he got the ball they kicked lumps out of him.

Again the tactics and line-up can be questioned. Why only play with one up-front, who does Strachan think he is, Paul Le Guen?

Fair enough if Magic wasn't 100% fit but Jarosik looked lost were he was playing and it didn't work at all.

Hopefully before the Hibs game we will see a Centre Forward and Left Back signed and Bobo and Maloney will be back within a few weeks as we need to be a lot better than we were yesterday in the League never mind in Europe.

Wouldn't it make you look forward to the Champions League draw a lot more if we went out and signed a couple of real quality players this week..

Its still early days but 7 out of 12 points isn't a great start and we need to get our act together quicky.

A wee start for Riordan against his old team anyone?

Pass, pass, pass and pass again.

Saw the game yesterday and the same problems come to the fore.

No cutting edge or urgency but hey we keep the ball well good.

Rioirdon, I back that shout no probs but think again it will be Kenny and Magic.

How much do we miss wee short arse Shaun. Big style that’s how much.

Europe, never thought about that until you mentioned it.

I’m away for a lay down………

I can see ambition being squeezed out from our heads.
I would like to see high tempo football with a good pace maintained. Just like Hearts when we beat them 1-0 in April. Perhaps Naka should go onto the left occasionally and whip in an early cross. This would stop our strikers having to run to the wing and surprise EVERYONE in the stadium. Remember the DC blog about pointless possession?

I thought about that quote from our American buddies when i was watching the game yesterday.

It is posession for possession sake, one pass to many and not enough balls to welly the thing our take a chance.

we need to up the tempo as we seem to be playing within ourselves.Or are we playing at peak.....

with our players i always think maybe le spud's 4-2-3-1 formation would suit us better than a 4-4-2.

gives naka a free role.

I thought about the 4-2-2-2 that John Barnes tried when the World Cup was on. A visionary? 8-)
Also, JB had a beter start to the season than GS has managed so far, including last year.
Riordan can get us goals but he has to be on the pitch. i`m wondering if Magic has lostconfidence after the WC but he will probably come alive in September, I`m hoping!

Fall out from the Inversenkie game continues-

Celtic are investigating certain sections of Sunday’s away support after all supporters buses in attendance were contacted to confirm what sections and rows they were sitting in on Sunday.

If you were in section D then a possible wee visit to CP might be on the card for you……

Arthur Boruc wasn’t injured but fell oot with the ginger one as the rumour of unrest in the camp gathers pace. Rumours of the players now hating GS methods, attitude and training is the word on the street.

Rioirdon- the disco deek question after hearing about the supposed rumours maybe he is one GS was talking about young players and bad attitudes.

He needs a chance, more off later though……

Afternoon Gents,

The IT Nazis have relented access has been granted back to Baldy to the world of 'Cyber-timdom'.

First thing to check back all that I have missed on LOTW, Mrs-to-be-baldy has had me doing too much decorating and wedding organising to spend anytime at home on the Tinternet.

Looks like Naylor is up to sign and rumours aboung that Jan Vinnegar of Castlemilk will soon be shortly.

I see a large number of CQNers are demanding the signature of a CB. I think a mobile holding midfielder who likes a tackle is the answer myself with Bobo and possibly JFK returning. Defending the defence and driving forward the team would be my preferred option. For the money I would rather have Carsley than Graveson, better tackler even if he is another ex-Cov boy. Still think that Real signed the wrong Baldy from Everton.

Presently with the lack of bite in midfield, I feel our CBs are too exposed and unsure who to pick up, explaining why they look unsure with each other against the likes of ICT, but looked particularly effective against Chelsea, when Lenny and Sno played both as deep lying midfielders.

Well anyway, sure you'll be glad to see my ramblings return bhoys.

Hi all

Still read your blog but seldom post.

I don't know who has filled your head with the rumours of unrest but a current young first team player has told me and friends recently that WGS is great with all the players. Especially the younger lads. Much, much, much, much(ad infinitum) better than MON apparently.............

"Bit of a weirdo" was the honest reply to "What was MON like?"

Anywho......

i did take the rumours with a pinich of salt but against my better judgement posted them anyway.

the guy who told me them is so anti GS he beleives GS is to blame for all the worlds woes.

Baldy i agree i defensive mid is a must for me as with Bobo returning a more solid look should return....

Your comment about the playing with 2 defensive mid's is spot on as well as i said earlier with the personel we have i feel le spud's 4-2-3-1 is more suited to us.

The protection that gives to the back 4 would maybe inspire more confidence in Mick and Caldwell.

Lee Carsley? Haven't seen enough of him to judge but a do think Graveson is living of a few months of good form.....

Arctic Monkey- welcome back nice to see you posting again- i will take it from you that there is no unrest due to your source.

If the players like him though makes you wonder why some don't seem interested in busting a gut for him.....

MON a weirdo:-) must admit Martin O'Neill of Aston Villa just doesn't seem right.

Him doing that jig last night just didn't seem right either....is that how others saw him when he was with us?
